Event Date: Jul/03/2010
Author: pepelupu
Subject: Stator issues Boulevard C90t
Posted: Jul/03/2010 at 5:44pm

I just recently have had the pleasure to encounter a problem that I now believe Suzuki may be aware of. It involves the fact that your bike will not start and you are not sure why. If you have been told that you do not ride enough and that you need a new battery or that you need a battery tender you may be lead astray. After viewing several forums I have come to the conclusion that regardless of the mileage there seems to be issues with the charging system on the 05 through 07 Boulevard model Suzuki's. It seems that either the stator and regulator/rectifier may be the problem. After having my battery checked at my dealer and finding it to be in good condition I made the check suggested to see if charging was being applied to the battery and it was not. This has lead me to have them now check to see what exactly has failed. If you are given a cost of $500.00 or more to make the repair using Suzuki parts I suggest you have them check again. After quickly researching I found replacement after market items at a fraction of the cost. The first I found was metricthunder.com and this then lead my dealer to also check and find that they to could find it much less through their sources. Anyhow will update when I have completed the repairs and let everyone know what happens. Good luck to you all. Love the bike other than this!
